Did you know . . .
Many state prisons and prison healthcare systems have been privatized?
That means private corporations now have an incentive to fill prison cells with more inmate's at the taxpayers' expense and have even more incentive to spend as little as possible on prisoner medical treatment.  This has led to a pandemic of prisoner abuse, including death.  The United States Justice Department recently announced the federal government will end the use of private federal prisons.  (Click here for story).  Encourage your legislators to end the use of private state prisons by contacting your local congressman or congresswoman.
